Peeps Eyewear was started by Kristin Ellsworth after her daughter needed glasses and she told her mom, “Princesses don’t wear glasses.” Kristin made it her mission to prove that just isn’t true. So Kristin created an eye glass company for kids who get to wear glasses that celebrates their creative spirit and Peeps Eyewear was born!
Can you tell Ellie likes them? She gets compliments on her Peeps Eyewear glasses everywhere she goes and is always quick to point out the princess crowns on the sides and the sparkles all over.
The current line of Peeps Eyewear glasses come as pink or purple frames with or without sparkles. To add even more fun, each pair of frames comes with the book “Princesses Wear Glasses” which gets read over and over at our house. There is also an optional cape and crown that can be purchased for an additional fee or on its own. Wouldn’t the crown and cape be a great birthday gift?
While Peeps Eyewear hits fun out of the park, there are several things I love about Peeps Eyewear as a parent. First is Peeps Eyewear‘s commitment to fit – we received a kit with multiple sizes to ensure the best fit possible. While you will find a list of retailers near you, Peeps Eyewear does not sell glasses online, just frames. Ellie’s glasses are pink, fun and sparkly but they do not over power her face. I still see my Ellie, not a pair of glasses. There is just something so special about a mom starting a company to make her daughter feel special and in doing so gives confidence to girls all over the country, including mine.
PeepsEyewear.com is packed with coloring pages, paper dolls and resources on all topics related to kids and vision. Parents of boys, don’t fret, a boys line is in the works and will be out in the near future!

My daughter, Hope (age 4) was adopted from Russia in 2009. She wears a high script of -12.5 and loves princesses. She has been frustrated that she wears glasses, but the princesses don’t. She loves to dress up like a princess and would love the pink glasses. She is such an amazing little girl and has overcome so many obstacles in her little life. It would be great to show her that she is a princess, and princesses DO wear glasses.

We just got back from a PO visit where we found out my 5 year old princesses “windows to the word” have increased by 1 more diopter again. (last new perscription was 5 months ago.) The growth spurts are changing her eyes and we are needing another pair of glasses. I think she would love either color, but would end up choosing the purple, they are just ADORABLE!!!

by the way my nieces’ name is Ellie for Elizabeth, but my sister named her after a clothing designer that she loves name Elie Tahari who is a man…She loved the name but weird she didn’t want it to be her regular name but wanted to have it as her nick name, but, she calls her Ellie….I honestly don’t get it….lol
