First Grade Style: Mia

Mia started First Grade this year.  She is a girl with her own sense of style and longs for her first Matilda Jane dress.  Mia is a tough girly girly who likes pink best but would rather be playing outside.

For Mia, we are making her wish come true with the Matilda Jane Paisley dress.  A bright necklace from AikoArt is the perfect fun accessory to match.  The Kickers Franzine boots are available at TeaCollection.com and are great for special occasions or everyday wear.  Mia was excited to start brown bagging it this year so the Lunch Punch from Little Choux will give her friends something to talk about at the lunch table.  Lastly, my favorite book about two best friends, The Frog and Toad Collection is great for young readers to learn about friendship.

Kindergarten Style: Alexander

Alexander is a rad kid who just started kindergarten.  You know a kid who is obsessed with his purple Native boots has a style that surpasses the typical boy starting his elementary school journey.

It wasn’t easy, but here are our picks for Alexander – lover of Spiderman, the color blue and Jiu-Jitsu.  P.S. Isn’t he adorable?!

5 Fab Fall Jackets for Girls

One of the most fun parts of being an editor at The Little Style File is helping readers.  Betsy and I love to help style you for family photos, find the perfect pair of shoes to match a dress and point you in the right direction of vintage shorts and suspenders.

We recently got a note from Jessica who had searched at all of the old standby’s for a fall jacket for her five year old daughter, Olivia, but came away empty handed.  Jessica gave us the following criteria:  she wanted the fall jacket under $60 and something more exciting than a regular fleece or rain coat.

Our picks for a great girls fall jacket:  Boden Shaggy Zip Through, 77 Kids Fleece Pea Coat, Hatley Rain Coat, Boden Fleece Lined Anorak, Pumpkin Patch Kids Trench.

Where did you find your daughter’s fall jacket this year?

Kindergarten Style: Twin Editon!

Style starts at a young age and kids love to feel great about what they’re wearing Kindergartners! Kids are filled with their own style opinions at five and we love to help them feel great and be comfortable while mastering the monkey bars. We are happy to introduce you to two adorable and sweet twins that headed off to Kindergarten this year, Delia and Lucinda! Expressing your individuality can be hard to do as a twin. Lucinda likes to dress the same and well Delia on the other hand does not! Lucinda LOVES pink and her sister dislikes it! I wanted to give them both items that fit their personality, allow them to be individuals but also embrace the coolness of being a twin! I found two awesome dresses that I fell in love with from the fabulous ZozoBugBaby! We love this clothing line because it is all about color and having fun, that fits Lucinda and Delia to a T! When dressing for Kindergarten we want kids to have fun and enjoy what they wear each day!

FabKids For Every Girl!

Have you heard of FabKids? FabKids believes in celebrating every girl and letting them shine! Christina Applegate is not only a busy mom with the hit show, Up All night  (which we LOVE) but she is also Creative Partner for FabKids! We love FabKids because they allow your little girl to feel empowered while they shop for their clothes on the FabKids website.  Mia is 6 years old and at a young age has had her own style and at times we disagree on what she should wear. She enjoyed sitting down at the computer with me and creating her style profile by taking the FabKids  style profile quiz. This is one quiz  girls will love taking! At the end of the quiz, each girl will receive personalized picks! Each month you will find new outfits styled just for you! You can buy the outfit if you love it or skip it for next month! Every outfit includes 3 pieces and is $39.95.

As women we all love a certain, little blue box, right? When Mia came home from school she was beyond excited to find the pink FabKids box with her name on it! The excitement grew when she discovered what was inside! As a mom that loves to shop and  the quality of clothing  counts.  I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the clothing we received from FabKids! They passed both the “kid” and “mom” test with us!

fabkidsEvery girl can shine anywhere they go in FabKids clothing!

Disclosure: We were given an outfit for each of our girls from Fabkids. Our opinions are as always honest and our own. We only write reviews on products and companies that we love!

Back To School Fun!

In our house we like to start off the morning before school with music. In the morning we are all over the house getting ready, from the Kitchen to upstairs in the kids bedrooms. I wanted a portable speaker system that was small,, easy to take with us and fun for the kids. When I discovered the ihome rechargeable mini speaker, I knew it would be perfect! The kids were thrilled when the adorable little speaker arrived and could not wait to check it out! I was impressed with the amount of sound that comes out of the adorable mini speaker! We have had other speaker systems for our ipods but they were much bigger and bulkier and not as portable as this one. This speaker can easily fit in your purse, great for college students and would be perfect to bring on a vacation!

This mini speaker is a perfect way to welcome the new school year for kids of all ages! A great way to listen to music while studying or when you need a little break!

Want some cool back-to-school swag of your own? AT&T is running a Back to School Sweepstakes online through September 16. Each week is a new prize! This week’s prize is the Motorola Atrix HD , A super cool smartphone. Just go to http://bit.ly/ATTBacktoSchool to enter.

Disclousrure: I was sent the ihome mini speakers  from M80 for the post and to use for the review, but all opinions are honest and  my own.
