One of my favorite holiday traditions is the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. Every year Mickey & Minnie are the grand marshals and lead the parade down Michigan Avenue to light the lights and kick off the holiday season.
Besides just taking in our favorite Disney characters at the parade, the day begins early with live performances - this year featuring Justin Roberts and Sharky & Bones from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. After lunch and a little downtime, we bundle up and head out for the parade.
Despite living in the suburbs, this is the weekend we are tourists in our own city and stay downtown for the weekend. After brunch on Sunday morning, we talk a walk over to Marshal Field's, I mean Macy's, and visit Santa's Village to see the real Santa Claus.
This is a tradition that I loved growing up and am so happy to continue sharing with my parents and my children. What are your favorite holiday traditions? Leave a comment below or share pictures on our facebook page!
