I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Brancott Estate Wines. I received a gift card to purchase party supplies to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
When I was single and lived in the city, girls night out happened often. We had at least one girls night dinner at each of our friends apartments every month. When I became a mom and moved to the suburbs, girls nights didn't happen as much. You know how it goes, by the time you are ready for a girls night out, you are too tired! Over the last few years I have realized I need to plan more GNO's or even Girls Night In. A night that the girls can come over, we can enjoy wine, good eats and gossip. Just forget being a mom for at least a few hours. :)
Recently I was asked by Brancott Estate to invite over some girls for a fun night of tasting wine and watching an episode of The Bachelorette on ABC. Have you been watching? The Bachelorette has been a huge guilty pleasure of mine for a long time. We all agreed not to watch the show on Monday and I set the TiVo box to record it. Watching The Bachelorette with the girls is much more fun than watching it alone. It is always fun to gossip and discuss everything with friends while the show is happening. I loved hearing who everyone thinks Des should end up with in the end.
We had the opportunity to taste the Brancott Estate Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. We all enjoyed both wines but in the summer prefer a white wine or red. The Sauvignon Blanc had a lot of citrus flavors that were very good and paired well with the Brie bites, cream cheese with walnuts and honey and vanilla ice cream with wine soaked berries. These recipes are all very easy to throw together in a pinch. We all agree that it is a perfect summer wine.
A time out for mommy with good company, yummy food and great wine is important and should be done more often! We all know a happy mommy makes a good mommy.
How often do you have a girls night out?
