Thanks to Target for sponsoring today's discussion on Back to School!

This is my girl.

target back to school

She lives for the beach, the pool, the sun, the sand.  Anything more than a bathing suit is too much clothing and the thought of going to sit in school for the next 9 months is oh so not appealing.

Last year we had the excitement of full day Kindergarten.  New school, the bus, lunch with friends - all so new and exciting.  Yesterday she asked me if First Grade is all day.  When I said yes she moaned, "Awwwwwww."

You might think I'm in big trouble.  That there is nothing on this earth that will get my girl to walk on a bus in 9 days.  But I've got an ace up my sleeve.  And it's called Back to School Shopping.

Hello Kitty folders and a new box of crayons are a little appealing to the 6 year old.  A back pack with horses and glittery new sneakers?  Might even get her to crack a smile.  But the piece de resistance will be letting her pick out some of her own outfits all by herself from Target.  She loves to pull looks together on her own and I like to not break the bank on her fashionista moments.

Wish me luck, it's the big countdown.  NINE DAYS UNTIL FIRST GRADE!
