Armed with our $200 Target gift card and #KidsGotStyle Stylagram, Ellie and I headed to Target, Back To School headquarters for our family. As she's growing, Ellie is getting more and more independent about her fashion choices. I knew she loved everything in her Stylagram but hoped the rest of the shopping trip wouldn't turn into a battle.
The Fox Purse was first on our list. Ellie wears glasses for school so this is a great way for her to carry her case and cleaning wipes along with contact information for mom and dad and a few little trinkets. The tee from the Stylagram is soft and she loved the design. It will be great for back to school with a jean skirt in the warm weather or paired with jeans and a cardi when it turns cooler.
The next few minutes of shopping are a blur of screeching about loving colors or prints, jackets and cardigans and sequins. Here is what our cart looked like after we left the girl's section.
Besides the fun fashion things that filled our cart, we also found all of the staples on the First Grade Supply List. From a hot pink supply box to student scissors and Ticonderoga pencils, we literally did not go to another store for back to school supplies. The best part? That $200 Target gift card covered all of the six year old's favorite fashion finds and supplies!
As great as scoring a deal feels, our favorite part was going home to try everything on! A little living room fashion show anyone?
The fox purse and tee were in the Stylagram from Target. We paired it with a bootcut jean and an oversized sparkly clip we found in the accessory section. The big clips are great for Ellie's super thick and long hair!
What is it about a little girl in a blazer that is too hard to resist?! This knit blazer is great for transitional weather with a bright tee underneath and paired with any kind of jean. The fun pencil case was in the Stylagram and will be great for keeping supplies together at home or school.
A comfy look for school is a roll up sleeve knit tunic and jeggings. Ellie is our little artist and using her scissors from her school supply list and Stylagram for her latest creation!
This outfit was a bit of a compromise. If you know me you know animal prints are far, far down on my list of favorite things. But in this cardigan over the sequined collar tee and jeggings it works. Top knot, tortoise shell glasses and ballet poise totally complete her look she proudly assembled all on her own.
So how did we do? I can say Ellie and I are thrilled with her back to school looks. By layering and mixing and matching pieces, she has a great start to feeling stylish for the rest of summer into winter!
