For a lot of families sports are a big deal and I am a witness of my own family loving not just one sport but many!  My son Cayden decided this year for his 8th birthday that he wanted a sports theme. He couldn’t decide a favorite sport so we went with an All Star Sports Theme.

When planning birthday parties I love finding ways to throw a party without breaking the bank. This party was so fun because I gathered my son’s own sports equipment from around the house and I borrowed from friends, neighbors and people I know who have sports equipment. I gathered real sports props from all over to create the perfect All Sports setting.

Using the props made the theme stand out. I also had Lauren Haddox design the perfect printables to personalize the party.

All of the food that I served at this party would be found at a ballpark or stadium.  One of my favorite ideas I found on Pinterest was using Cheese balls as basketballs, powdered sugar donuts as baseballs and pretzel nuggets as footballs.

A few DIY projects you can do for a sports theme is to use green felt for your field with white ribbon and iron on numbers. Another project is making your own football goal post.  All you need is PVC pipes from your local hardware store, spray paint and a piece of wood to stabilize it.

For the dessert table one of the quick, no bake desserts I made were Chocolate covered Oreo Pops decorated as a basketballs, footballs and baseballs. These were simple to make and the boys loved them.

The boys were entertained most of the party with playing football, basketball and soccer. Everyone had a ball!!
