I love party planning, and it’s a joy to put a party together for my loved ones and try to use as many local and small businesses as possible. Three of my daughter Charlotte’s favourites are ballet, the movie “Tangled” and one of her best friends. It only seemed fitting to combine them and have a shared 3rd birthday, with one of her best pals, at her favourite ballet studio. For the decoration & food, we drew inspiration from the movie & Pinterest (of course).

Both girls love the movie Tangled, Rapunzel and dressing up, so we decided to let them do their thing and we took a bunch of photos, ultimately settling on this one for their evite.

Upon arrival, the girls received braids and the boys received viking hats. We also added some touches to help transform the space into Rapunzel’s Kingdom.

A Fairytale Ballet allows you to choose your theme (they have many) and they have hand sewn costumes (for both girls & boys) to use throughout the party. They provide an instruction filled party with dancing, music, singing and story time. Our instructor, Ashley was fantastic and kept the kids excited and engaged throughout (not an easy feat!) The space is also adorably whimsical!

Once the class was winding down, we had a special surprise for the birthday girls and their guests.

Rapunzel arrived and was in full character from the moment she walked in. Everyone was momentarily silenced and mesmerized, especially once she began singing- she was amazing! Rapunzel definitely enchanted our guests and presented the birthday girls with crowns, and special flower clips. She also gave them princess/prince lessons, sang songs, took photos and gave everyone a special autograph.

We had Tangled Punch, jello boats and other snacks, pizza from Piece and the pièce de résistance, a tower cake and cupcakes! The desserts were all made by Maggie, she’s terrific!

It was the Best Day Ever! After months of talking about her “Tapunzel” party and all of the planning, everything came to fruition with the help of many. The girls and their guests had tonnes of fun! It was great to see the party come to life and to see the girls celebrating with their friends and family. The happy faces and big smiles and their surprised faces when Rapunzel arrived was priceless. In the words of Rapunzel, it was truly the Best Day Ever!

They are fantastic! They helped before and after the party to make sure everything ran smoothly and that they knew our needs. They exceeded our expectations and were a pleasure to work with! Highly recommend. We are looking forward to Fall classes & checking out their new location in Bucktown!
