We live in Chicago and we are having a record breaking winter! Aren't we lucky? We have gotten over 32 inches of snow in January and have hit record breaking low temperatures. The kids were just off of school for 2 days due to the cold weather and that makes a total of 4 days off this year and it is still January! We love winter (usually). The kids love to get bundled up in layers of clothing and head out in the snow to build a snowman, sled, ice skate or even take a winter walk in the forest.

We are in major cabin fever mode right now.  Actually, mommy is having cabin fever badly! If we must stay inside the kids love creating with our diy art in a jar that we created awhile ago. They love the to make artwork with scraps of paper, pom pom's, ribbon and anything they find in the jar!  With having the kids home for the last 2 day, I needed to keep them busy and they wanted to do something crafty. Cereal is great to have on hand for craft projects. Kellogg's Fruit Loops are especially great to create edible jewelry.  I grabbed a box of Kellogg's Fruit Loops, white yarn that I had on hand  from another project and the kids let their creativity juices flow.

They created necklaces, bracelets and even rings. It was a fun and easy project. I loved that it was mess free, except for a few loops that fell on the floor. The kids loved the bright colors of the Kellogg's fruit loops and they had fun to creating colorful patterns.

This is a perfect craft for Birthday parties or even a playdate.
