I've said it before, winter pastels are HOT right now! The best part? You can buy spring pastels and wear them now as well as during the warmer months. I always love getting multiple uses from my wardrobe, and for winter the key is layering. Pair a pastel dress or skirt with wool tights, ankle booties, and an oversize boyfriend cardigan. I love the look of leather mixed in with softer materials and colors. The contrast of tough vs. sweet is a classic fashion juxtaposition. You can also grab a beautiful pleated pastel skirt and mix it with a nubby wool sweater, fleece-lined tights or leggings and knee high boots. When spring comes around, wear a pair of metallic strappy heels and a long pearl necklace with the leather dress. The pleated skirt will pair well with a basic slim white t-shirt and white flip flops for day or dress it up with stilettos and sequins for night.

If you aren't as into the pastel trend, there are a lot of different options in the form of accessories. A pastel beanie will work right into your winter rotation at this point, and it gives you a break from perfecting your hair that day! Pastel sunglasses are found in all shades: mint, blush, lilac, and lemon are my current favorites. In terms of necklaces, why not cruise the juniors department and select a pastel statement piece? The juniors or kids section is often less expensive than the women's department, and they have adorable pieces this time of year.

However you choose to style your pastels, have fun with it and don't be afraid to mix it up!
