Thank you Houlihan's for sponsoring today's post! As a stay at home mom that is a WAHM, I have realized recently that I have been in a rut. Now that our kids are getting older and it is easy to get babysitters my husband and I are actually going out a lot more. It is always nice to get out with my husband even if its just for a couple hours. What I have realized that I don't do a lot of Girls Night Outs. For me sometimes its just easier to stay at home after a long day. At the beginning of the year i decided to change thins up and have tried to make a point to get out of the house during the week with friends or a friend at least once a month. It can be a challenge with schedules and kids activities. I am trying to eat better and workout 3 times a week but as we all know hard that can be sometimes especially while dining out.
Houlihan's is a restaurant that I actually grew up frequently dining at with my family when I was younger and living in Indianapolis. It was established in 1972 and is a progressive concept that bridges the gap between fine dining and what people look for in casual dining. Houlihan's is known for style, quality and hand crafted dishes.
I haven't been to a Houlihan's in a few years and was excited to learn they have created a new specials menu with craveable lighter fare items. Their light fare menu features, entrees, desserts and cocktails all under 590 calories and will satisfy your cravings but leave your waistline happy!
I ordered a Skinny Raspberry Mojito and I was skeptical because I don't normally like skinny cocktails. I was pleasantly surprised it was delicious! My friend ordered a beer but quickly switched to the Skinny Mojito.
We ordered the Firecracker shrimp from the old menu as an appetizer. They were very yummy and a perfect start off our meal.
I ordered the Seared Gerorge Banks Scallops the smaller portion (530 calories) from the new menu. It was a perfect size. The risotto was amazing!! I don't usually order scallops when it is not a seafood restauraunt but this were good.

My friend ordered the Miso Grilled Salmon which is 540 calories. She loved the taste and it was the perfect size. Our tummies were full but we didn't feel like we over indulged. Which is always a good feeling, right?
We both ordered a dessert from the new specials menu, Key lime mouse (420 calories) and chocolate mouse (410 calories) to go. Houlihan's has over 83 locations and we want to give YOU a chance to check out their new specials menu and any of your old favorites. One lucky winner will win a $50 Gift card to Houlihan's!
