The event I recently attended showcased dozens of the hottest designers featuring this season's latest styles. I will give you one guess where my event occurred.
New York Fashion Week you say?
It was the T.J. Maxx Grand Opening on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
Some people get excited about a new restaurant or bar opening. Me? This is THE store I have been waiting for to come to The Magnificent Mile. Why pay more for name brands when you can get up to 60% off retail?
As I ascended the escalator to this fabulous new location, a glittery logo in silver and pink greets me letting me know that yes, this is THE most glamorous T.J. Maxx I have ever laid eyes upon.
As I take my first turn into the store, a cheery section of this season's hottest bags catches my eye. Next to it? Luxury luggage of course!
As I continue around the bend, I spy the Runway section. Racks upon racks of luxury brands, all at my fingertips and all incredibly more affordable than their department store counterparts. We pause here for a chat with Jamie Krell, celebrity producer of style segments featured on E! Entertainment and Style Network. Jamie also appears on morning news programs as a style expert on all major networks. She was dressed in a leopard cape that draped elegantly over a gold hardware-accented off white silk blouse and black skinnies tucked into black leather ankle boots. Perfection.
Jamie rolled a rack in of fall fashion must-haves. Her fall capsule included:
- Athletic chic
- Leather and leather detail
- Blue & black
- Ankle booties in black and brown
After a game of The Price is Right- T.J. Maxx-style, we were let loose to shop the store. I bee-lined to the shoe department in search of an item on my fall must have list- black open-toe ankle booties. Of course I was sidetracked by these snake print heels:
I tried on a pair of booties which were practical (mesh vs. leather) but not exactly what I was looking for. And then I spotted them, in the secret size 9 section around the corner- genuine leather for $39.99.
Besides having an amazing array of clothing and accessories, I always adore surfing the beauty goods. I found my FAVORITE polish remover that I received in one of my subscription boxes. Oil-based nail polish remover pads, which retail for $9.99 per pack of 32- at T.J. Maxx for $3.99 for a set of four. Score!
I could have shopped for hours- the caliber of the brands absolutely blew me away. T.J. Maxx, you have totally stepped up your game and I am ready to play!
What are your favorite finds from T.J. Maxx?
