Will's big sisters are very concerned about his social life. They want to make sure he has lots of baby friends he can spend the days with. I told them not to worry. He's doing his best to be social and meet new peeps.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays while the sisters are at school, Will and I pack up and head to his Gymboree class. Once inside Will and his peers explore what makes a good friend. Or more importantly that pulling hair, grabbing noses and stealing toys are not really what a baby looks for when picking a new best buddy.
There is so much to do in the Gymboree room. Slides and climbers and tunnels and lots and lots of play balls. Will is learning how to take turns and get excited when others are having fun, too.
But mostly he's working on his fine and gross motor skills and learning new tricks week after week. I completely forgot that babies crawl backwards first. Last week Will crawled backwards down a foam wedge! Watching the kids older than him have inspired him to get up on all fours and rock like a wild man. Any second he'll be crawling across the living room rug with his big sisters cheering him on every scoot of the way.
I mean seriously, who wouldn't want to be friends with this guy? Ellie and Mads have nothing to worry about.
How did you make baby friends for your kids?
