Fall has officially arrived, and with it, the crisp breeze that beckons layers upon layers of fall fashion. With this transition weather, it is tough to decide what to wear in the mornings. I also hate giving up some of my favorite summer pieces! Luckily, you can pull in items from summer as long as you have the right layers. Here are two looks that incorporate a summer piece but will keep you warm through the changing seasons. Summer Floral Skirt

The floral skirt has long been a spring/summer icon! Why not liven up your cold weather wardrobe and keep it in the rotation for fall? A denim shirt is a staple in my closet- perfect for layering under and over. Toss on a chunky knit and a military jacket and you are ready to brave the elements in style! Boots transform any skirt- ankle booties, knee high riding boots, even combats (my favorite) can temper a feminine look. If you are still too chilly, wool or fleece tights are a lifesaver!

Slip Dress

Granted, a true slip dress doesn't provide much warmth. This is why you have to add layers of textured knits, anchored by a slim leather belt to keep your shape. Moto boots completely transform the style of the dress- bringing it to a whole other level. I love tassels as well- a long tassel necklace brings the eye down and helps create a lean silhouette. This is a holiday look that I would wear EVERY day if I could!
