As soon as I walked in, I knew I would hang out at BurgerFi on a regular basis. The space was a full circle and incredibly spacious, reminding me of the Jetson's apartment. The decor reminded me of a chic Chicago timber loft, with naked bulbs dangling from modern fixtures. I later learned that locations include chairs made from recycled Coke bottles, tables formed from pressed recycled wood and massive ceiling fans that use 66% less electricity. TOTALLY downtown Chicago loft, right?? Betsy and her two, Dylan and Mia, joined Bryson, Charlotte and I for an amazing lunch!
And I haven't even talked about the food yet! BurgerFi serves only all-natural, free-range beef with no additives or chemicals (Jamie Oliver would be proud!). My suggestion- order from the "Secret Menu"- the Alternative Style Burger is smothered in grilled onions, American cheese, mustard and BurgerFi sauce (swoon!).
Not a burger fan? There is something for everyone on this menu. They also have quinoa burgers, chicken apple dogs, brisket, and even a 100% Wagyu Kobe Beef dog. The sides are heavenly as well, my favorite being the onion rings as big as your head. They offer a wide variety of toppings for their delectable french fries- salt & vinegar, parmesan & herb, and chili cheese.
Bryson and Dylan loved the automated beverage machine, mixing up flavors like grape Sprite and cherry vanilla Coke. Mia had the most delicious Peanut Butter shake, and I almost went for the Red Velvet shake myself! How could I resist the craft beer selection on tap, though? Since we were there on a Tuesday after hitting up the Kohl Children's Museum (minutes from the Glenview BurgerFi location), all draft beers were $2...including some of my favorite craft brews (and yes, that is an infant formula bottle next to my beer- Charlotte, my 11 month old, joined us as well!). I am thinking of having a standing date for family dinner on Tuesdays at BurgerFi- no cooking for me, a rotating selection of totally affordable craft brews, and a family-friendly environment. They also have wine by the glass or bottle, and on Wine Wednesday you buy two glasses and get the whole bottle.
BurgerFi has it all, and I can't wait to go back. My husband saw the leftovers that I brought home and requested that I bring him for dinner next time! They are located at 1735 Milwaukee Ave in Glenview at the corner of Milwaukee and Lake. You can find more locations here. Check out their website for additional information and a full menu, and make sure to go hungry!
