Baking is one of our favorite holiday traditions. This year we expanded our usual holiday cookies by adding Madelines and cupcakes to the mix.
First we tried the Madeleines. While a mix is available, we tried an old family recipe and made them from scratch! The girls and their friends thought using the big mixer and sifting flour was so cool!
After the Madelines had finished baking we decorated them with powdered sugar and then packed them up in the adorable boxes with tissue paper and twine to bring to our neighbors.
The girls baked and decorated their own cupcakes using the American Girl Williams -Sonma cupcake set as a reward for their hard work. The tools in the kit made icing a cinch and the party picks and fun liners have each girl a little creativity.
To keep from getting messy, we had an adult apron, child size apron and doll apron, of course! Each came with a coordinating oven mit.
For girls ages 8 and up who are into cooking and baking, these kitchen accessories and sets would make the perfect gift! You can see more from our holiday baking party in the Little Style File's Holiday Handbook!
