The Rabbit Who Wants To Fall Asleep

The Rabbit Who Wants To Fall Asleep

There's a book that's getting a lot of buzz lately.  A book that makes a bold promise - it can put your kid to sleep. the rabbit who wants to fall alseep

Daddy does Will's bedtime and he was excited to see what would happen when reading this book.

The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep uses a few innovative techniques to lull your child to dreamland. Some phrases are typed in bold, some are italicized to slow down or emphasize speech.  The child's name is also used in the book and there are pauses for yawns.

Will seemed to be really calm until he saw a wizard in the book.  The wizard was a little exciting apparently but after he recovered, he snuggled in for more of the story of the rabbit with the same name who liked to do the same things and couldn't fall asleep.the rabbit who wants to fall asleeBecause Will is still in a crib, we read in the chair, then put him in to bed.  We think this book would work even better for children who are a little older where the parent could lay next to the child and not have to transfer.  But even with the transfer, here was the scene on the video monitor a few minutes later.

Crazy for SoCozy hair products!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of SoCozy. All opinions are my own and not edited by the sponsor.

Mia has VERY thick hair and a ton of it!  It can be hard to manage and tame. She is nine years old and at the age where she needs to put hair product in her hair to tame and style it. I don't want her using products that will damage her hair. When I was spotted the cool  SoCozy prodcuts at Target, I was happy to find out that all of their products are non toxic and made without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol, gluten, wheat or nuts.

I had no idea how excited my kids would get about hair products! Seriously, they spent about 20 minutes checking out the entire SoCozy  product line and oohing ahhing over the wonderful smells. Mia needs a good conditioner and it seems to be hard to find one made for kids hair. The SoCozy product line is perfect for Mia, her personal favorites are the 2 in 1 shampoo + body wash,  super hydrating conditioner, Detangler + leave in conditioner and  styling mouse. Her hair has never looked or smelled better. She has a lot of fun trying out new hair styles. She can even braid her own hair better than I can!

Dylan enjoys spiking up his hair or trying to make a faux hawk when possible.

He loved testing out both the styling gel and cream. Of course he had to check out the smell and he approved of the Trop-O-Lish and Pear fection scents.

The styling gel gave him the right amount of hold but wasn't crusty and hard. His hair stayed crazy spiky just like he wanted it all day.

Want to tryout SoCozy products for your kids? You can save $3 on all SoCozy products at Target until 6/13 with this coupon.

Disclosure:  I received products to review and compensation from SoCozy for this post. My opinion is my own and not edited by SoCozy.

Fill Your Top Two Drawers with Peach!

Fill Your Top Two Drawers with Peach!

One of the most frustrating things to do as a woman is to go bra shopping. We each have our own style, size and preferences, and any of those factors can change in an instant. Add in the fact that we usually have kids tagging along during this necessary yet complicated excursion, and it is a recipe for disaster. If millions of women wear these things...heck, billions, and why is the process so incredibly confusing and filled with misinformation? Did you know that 80% of women are in the wrong bra size and 95% of women hate the shopping experience? Time for a change. I recently attended the Peach Perfect Fit Tour on their stop in Chicago, and received a "Perfect Luxe Bra Fitting" with a Personal Stylist. My Stylist, Katey, was so incredibly knowledgeable about how a bra should fit. She took a look at my current bra and could immediately tell that it wasn't working for me. After taking a 10 point set of calculated measurements (and no, it wasn't just a quick whip of a measuring tape twice around), she found a size that was truly me. She asked questions about the clothes that I wear and how I prefer to have my bras fit.

Want to know the best part about Peach? The stylist actually comes to your house. No more getting shoved alone into a fitting room, armed with an arsenal of assorted garments, only to rush out of the store with something passable because your kids are driving you crazy. Your information and sizes are then stored in the Peach system, and you have access to your Stylist moving forward. They are currently in 25 states and expanding- you can see if they are in your area with this link. Appointments are made at the convenience of the client (you) for dates and times that work within your schedule.

In addition to bras, they aim to "fill your top two drawers." This means everything from panties to shapewear to hosiery to chemises to t-shirts and camis, even loungewear and cardigans (which are all the absolutely softest clothing items I have ever worn). Here is one of their Spaghetti Strap Camis peeking out from under my favorite wrap dress. This gorgeous item stayed put all day- it didn't ride up, and held shape after washing.

I also tested out their insanely soft Infinity Scarf- perfect for those deceptively chilly days right now where the sun is out but it is still in the 60s. It also doubles as a nursing cover! One item that I have my eye on, which happens to be a best seller, is their Simply Soft Flyaway Cardigan.

The whole goal of Peach is to inspire women to be their most "beyoutiful" through their one of a kind shopping experience. Take a look at what they have to offer you!

PS- They are actively looking for stylists to add to their team, so if you are entrepreneurial in nature and looking to get in on the ground floor of a new company, check them out here!

Disclosure: I was provided with select Peach apparel for review purposes, and even purchased some with my own funds because I simply loved it. As always, all opinions are honest and my own.

Try a Trend Tuesday: Colored Sunglasses!

Trend. Fad. En Vogue. Craze. Latest Look. All The Rage. Chic. In Thing. Fresh Off The Runway.

Whether you follow trends or shun them, they keep popping up in the world of style. Fashion trends, by definition, are temporary and meant to eventually be replaced by a successor. This (to me) is exactly why they are fun to try! As long as they are affordable and fun, I am always willing to give a new trend a shot. I will be reporting weekly on new trends happening in the world of fashion and beauty and how I work them into my repertoire.

This week's Try a Trend Tuesday is....Colored Sunglasses!

Although many of us own a standard pair of aviators or the standard black oversize ovals, testing out a new color of sunglasses puts a little spring into your season. From cobalt to coral, mint to magenta, you can find affordable options in every color of the rainbow.

I am loving shades of purple for spring, so I test drove a pair of specs from GlassesShop. Yes, these are definitely cheap glasses when compared to their designer counterparts! (They also offer prescription eyeglasses if you are in the market).

Here is what I selected:

  Toulouse Wayfarer in Purple

I loved the color of the frames- so perfect for this time of year. One thing that I wasn't a huge fan of was the color of the lenses. They don't block out the sun as well as others do, so make sure to get dark tinted or polarized lenses. Wondering what the difference is between polarized sunglasses and their counterparts? Polarized sunglasses have a chemical film that reduces glare in addition to brightness; tinted lenses just reduce brightness.

I love ordering sunglasses online- as long as you know what shapes work for your face, there is usually a much better selection that in stores. If you want to give a try, you can get 20% off by using the coupon code CherylX20.

How To Style:

Matchy-matchy is in this year! If you want to match your sunglasses to your accessories, by all means play those colors up. Here are two ways I paired jewelry and sunglasses. The mint ones are from Forever 21 last year- affordable and chic as well!

The earrings on the left are from J. Crew Factory, necklace is from Forever 21. On the right, the earrings are from BaubleBar.

What are your thoughts on the colored sunglasses trend? Are you on board?

Disclosure: I received a complimentary pair of sunglasses from for review purposes. All opinions are honest and my own.

Feeding giraffes is about the only thing that got these kids out of the water.  The girls wore their Stella Cove dresses and were ready to get up close and personal with their favorite of all animals.stella cove dress

Madeline was a little timid of the big blue tongues and never quite did get the hang of feeding these gorgeous animals. wildlife world zoo

Ellie had the technique down.  You hold up your hand and then drop food right onto their tongues.  She learned her lesson from the last visit where she got a big, wet, giraffe kiss!

The girls could have stayed forever!

Next, the adventure continued in the sky with a sky ride across the entire zoo.  Not loving heights, I was happy to photograph from the ground!
