The Balance of Back To School for mom

My kids both headed back to school one week ago. I love my kids so much, we had an amazing summer going on a lot of adventures. By the end of the summer, I was exhausted. You would of thought that having an empty house during the day would have me jumping for joy, right?  I was that mom crying when I walked into the house after seeing them get on the bus. The feeling is strange and hard to put into words. I am now in a new chapter trying to find my place and getting into a regular routine.

In order to find a happy balance for myself while they are in school, I realized I need to plan out my week every Sunday. This will help me more productive on a daily basis.  Starting with a workout is key especially for my own sanity when it gets cold outside.  I am trying to do this 3 days a week. back to school 2015

I  have also realized that I am much more productive getting work done when I am not in my house. I like to work from my local Starbucks or library. My travel companion is my ASUS Intel 2 in 1. I love that it is small, can easily fit into most of my handbags. Two things that I love most about my Intel 2 in 1, is it's light weight and the battery life is better than my laptop. I have been able to set up the OneDrive and can share/access documents  and photos that are on my laptop from my Intel 2 in 1. How cool is that?

I personally love using the keyboard but in a quick second I can detach it and use my ASUS has a tablet. Which comes in handy when I am doing research on pinterest or just want to get on facebook.

The next few weeks I hope to find the perfect balance and happiness for me with a regular schedule.

How do you handle having a quiet house during the day?

The ultimate multitasker companion for busy moms. #intel2in1

My summer consists of running the kids to swim practice, swim lessons early in the morning. It seems we are running around all day long.  We are at the pool most of the day or on a fun adventure with friends. That means healthy eating isn't easy. I find myself eating what is convenient and we know that isn't good.

My favorite thing about pinterest is that I have healthy and easy recipes at my finger tips! Lunch meals are the hardest for me. Planning what I will eat for lunch ahead of time has been very helpful.  I like finding recipes that I can use left over chicken or what is already in my fridge and that doesn't take a lot of time. This easy and yummy avocado chicken salad that is now my go to for lunches because I usually have the ingredients in my fridge. Bonus, right?

My ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi has made looking for and  making new recipes simple. I like that I don't have to use a stand for the tablet when the keyboard is atttached. Its small and doesn't take up much room on my counter tops. It's home is now the kitchen counter. This summer I have been using  it in the morning to catch up on social media, while I drink my coffee and make the kids breakfast. It is a windows device and I love that it runs just like my laptop but just smaller. I can even access document and photos that are on my laptop using the OneDrive. The ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi the best multi- tasker companion a social media mom could ask for!

My new Travel Companion: ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi #intel2in1

At the end of April I headed to Scottsdale, Arizona for the Mom 2.0 summit. It was my second year attending this conference and it is a favorite. It is always wonderful to network, connect in person with bloggers/media companies that I only talk to online or on the phone and I  also attended some great educational sessions. When I travel especially for blogger events or conferences, I don't like bringing my laptop if possible. It gets heavy and usually it just gets in the way. I do need to bring some kind of tablet, notebook or laptop to access all of our social media accounts.  I was sent the ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi  test out and it came at the perfect time!

The Intel 2 in 1  is a Windows laptop with a keyboard that detaches, turning it into a Windows tablet. Two devices, in one cool package.  It is only 1.3 pounds which makes it perfect for tossing in your bag and bringing it with you where ever you go. It has an all day battery life (10 hours), no need to bring your charger with you. I am already a windows user, using the T100 chi is seamless  for me.

I was able to catch up on emails and blog posts at the airport using the keyboard. When I am on the airplane alone without children, I like to relax and watch a show or two.  The keyboard is magnetic, detach it and you have a tablet! How cool is that?

This is my mommy's new baby and the kids aren't allowed to touch it! They have already taken over our other tablets in the house.

What device is your must have for travel?

Hot toy Alert: LeapTV

Its that time of year when you are flooded with toy commercials and catalogs. My five year old son spent 30 minutes yesterday circling his favorite toys and that means he ended up circling almost everything in the catalog! It can be overwhelming for kids to choose what they want to put on their Christmas list. As a mom it is just as hard to decided what Santa should put under the Christmas tree. I want my kids to receive toys that will have longevity.

My kids both play games on our iPad's but we they don't have a game system. We are big fans of LeapFrog in our house and I was excited to see that they designed LeapTV for kids 3-8 years old. The game system is all about getting the kids active while teaching core skills in a variety of subjects like reading, math science and even problem solving.

My husband set the LeapTV up in our playroom for the kids. Once it was ready to go it was super easy for the kids to use it. The kids both think the motion sensing camera is cool. Mia is eight years old and has been enjoying the dance  and learn games. You can play solo or with several friends! The other day, Dylan invited 2 of his friends to check it out after school. Watching the boys play the LeapTV made me fast forward about ten years when they are teenagers!

Dylan has already circled a few LeapTV games that he would like Santa to bring him. I like that the library of 9 cartridge games are LeapFrog educator approved games. Combining educational and fun together make this mom happy!

Disclosure: I was provided with a LeapTV from MommyParties. My thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.
