Duracell is supporting the healing power of imagination by donating one million batteries to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals this holiday season. Betsy and I will be going to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago on Tuesday, December 13th, to deliver 300 toys to children at the hospital. Not only will we be bringing one toy for each child, but we enlisted our kids' classes to make cards for the children at the hospital.
Madeline's first grade class, Dylan's 2nd grade class, all of 4th grade at Ellie's school and all of 5th grade at Mia's school worked hard on creating personalized cards for each of the children at the hospital.
While the kids were busy crafting, we were busy shopping!
Selecting toys for girls and boys ages 1-15 is not an easy task but we think we did a pretty good job. We know that imagination is the best medicine for kids mentally, emotionally and physically. This is particularly true for kids facing health challenges this holiday season.
With tips from our kids on the hottest toys of the year, we filled our carts with battery powered toys that would be sure to bring a smile to every child spending the holidays in the hospital.
We want to encourage you to follow along with us as we visit Lurie Children's Hospital on Tuesday. We will be doing a Facebook Live in the morning while we are delivering the toys and a little extra holiday cheer! You can also follow the hashtag #DuracellPowersPlay!
