Alternate Title III:  Lifestyle Blogger Hosts NonPinterest Worthy Birthday Party.  And That's Just Fine With Her!

The last six birthday parties for my kids have been at our home.  We've had a Spa Birthday Party, an American Girl Grace Inspired Sleepover, a Rock Star First Birthday, a Rainbow Unicorn Pool Party, a Wooldland Creatures Party complete with real life woodland creatures and a Little Blue Truck Birthday Brunch.

I LOVE party planning but it's a lot to have a party at your house.  Cleaning, crafting, cooking, finding the perfect cake that accurately represents your theme and style.  Madeline's birthday falls just after school starts.  Everyone is getting adjusted to the back to school swing and we're all just plain tired.

When the girls went to gymnastics camp this summer and fell in love with the facility and coaches, I asked Madeline the million dollar question, "Hey!  Would you want to have your birthday party here?"

What you have to know is this party planning stuff is genetic.  My mom threw us amazing birthday parties.  I love hosting parties for the kids and now that they are old enough, they are themselves actively if not overly involved in their own party planning.  Before gymnastics camp,  Madeline had been coming up with an elaborate plan to have all 25 of her very best friends at our house for some kind of character party that would be completely dependent on a clear sky or we would all be stuffed in our house like sardines.

When Madeline screamed YES!!! I was instantly relieved.  Bonus that the gym provides table cloths, plates, napkins, sliver ware and cups!  The birthday girl and I searched for a super sassy party outfit, I picked up some balloons, grocery store cupcakes, party favors and we were DONE.

And guess what?  The party was still adorable and the kids had the best time.

Rainbow "Happy Birthday Crowns" added a little color to the party room table.

In the party section at Target, you'll find Spritz brand Ribbon Wands in packs of 6 for super cheap.  They come in rainbow colors, are well made and gave the party goers hours of fun!  I used a star punch and tied them on with curly ribbon to make them a little more fun.

Party tip:  Ask your grocery store to "flat ice" cupcakes for a more gourmet look.  I also asked for rainbow sprinkles on these.  Then I used the star punch and party straws to create the cupcake toppers.

My favorite picture from the party.  There are 20 kids in that foam pit, can you spot them all?!

You know, just hanging out with friends!

A big thanks to all of Madeline's friends for coming out to celebrate her special day!

All of the girls said this was the most fun birthday party ever and I might just have to agree!

Happy 7th Birthday, Madeline Claire!  We love you!
