My 3rd grader is getting so grown up, it's really hard to believe it. This year she insisted on ringing in the New Year with us and is very into the whole New Year's Resolution thing. Instead of focusing on resolutions, we decided to focus on wishes.
Ellie wanted to sit down and write out her wishes for the new year. At her new desk, she took this task very seriously thinking about her wishes and goals for the coming year.
Some wishes were realistic like, " I wish to play another session of volleyball and get better at my overhand serves!" Other wishes were a little more lofty like, "I wish I could get a hedgehog for my birthday!" and "I wish to go to Paris!" She might need the help of the Star Darlings for the last two.
Maybe a hedgehog and Paris aren't in store for 2016 but wishing and dreaming are important for an almost 9 year old, really for all of us.
Disney has created a new line of books, dolls, animated shorts and mobile app about the Star Darlings. Just like real girls, each Star Darling has her own wish that she pursues with full force and determination—and the help of her friends. These shared journeys and experiences provide exceptionally positive examples to inspire tweens to follow their dreams, and are experienced through books, dolls, music and apparel, along with a mobile app and animated shorts.
The books are a huge hit in our house. Ellie is making her way through the series and just can't put them down.
Both of my girls love the YouTube videos of the Disney Star Darlings. The themes are great for tweens and encourage girls to follow their dreams.
Today we are so excited to have a Disney Star Darlings book series giveaway! The lucky winner will receive books 1-5 plus the the "Wishers Guide to Starland". Enter in Rafflecopter below, good luck!
