Celebrate the 4th of July!

Today we are thrilled to share Michele Brown's star spangled 4th of July party with you!  Michele is the owner of Sweet Threads Clothing Co, an online boutique specializing in children's clothing that's a little sweet, a little modern and always handmade.

Nothing says the 4th of July like stars and stripes! We were in the mood to celebrate in a big way with lots of sweet treats as we await the fireworks display.

4th of July Kids Outfits

Amber of Party On! Designs created an amazing set that was as patriotic as could be. From the "Celebrate" banner to the "blast off" favor tags, the party colors really popped and the stars and stripes were easy to mix with simple white dishes and a fabric table runner that couldn't have been a more perfect match. We even tied some coordinating fabric to the paper banner to give it some extra "pop".

4th of July Party Ideas

We served sweets that can easily be picked up at the local grocery store on party day ~ vanilla cupcakes in red and white striped liners (supplied by Party On! Designs), chocolate covered pretzel rods (a super easy treat anyone can make!) served in mason jars, and marshmallows and star shaped gummies stuck on wooden swizzle sticks, (also supplied by Party On! Designs). For drinks we served "firecracker punch" in mason jars with star shaped lids and striped straws from Party On! Designs. I love the lids - so patriotic for this time of year and keeps the kids from spilling their drinks!

July 4th Party Ideas

I Have A Favor added an extra special touch by decorating clear push up pops with firecrackers and stars. A perfect match to our theme! We filled them with some red and blue candy and they were an easy treat for the kids during the fireworks. To end the party, we found patriotic bubbles in red and blue with star tops from our local craft store. The kids loved them!

July 4th Party Ideas

With easy store bought treats, we created a no stress party that all guests can enjoy as we celebrated the 4th with sweets and fireworks!

party style: it's magic, you know!

Once there was a four year old girl who became enchanted by magic.  She walked around her house saying, "There's nothing in my hands!  Nothing in my hands!" and then made a coin appear.  So it was no surprise when her dad and I asked her what kind of birthday party she wanted she shouted, "A magic party with a real, live magician!" Poof!  The magic party appeared in our very own home.

Having a mom who is a retired art teacher comes in handy when party planning.  Together, with even a little help from the Birthday Girl, we created these invitations.  The party details pulled out of the magic hat.  {tutorial to come!} magic party

No magic party would be complete without the fun, Pinterest favorite 'balloon wreath' in theme colors of pink, white and black that greeted guests and set the tone for the party.

Ellie loved her Misty Magician Lalaloopsy Doll and that is where her magic obsession originated.  It was only fitting for Misty to be out on display.  "Happy Birthday" banners from Tomkat Studio hung by balloons in the living room and play room.  A photo booth was set up with back drop, painted frames, bunny ears and magician hats.  Kids size tables were set out for the littlest party guests.  Those rabbits in hats are puppets from The Land of Nod - so fun!

The Magic Show was a huge hit!  The kids loved it and Ellie took her job as Assistant For The Day very seriously!
