Nautical Sprinkle for Zion

My dear friend Robbyn was pregnant with her fifth son. At 20 weeks she found out her baby boy had a genetic disorder called Trisomy 18. Babies who are diagnosed with this generally pass during the pregnancy, or are still born or when born they have no life expectancy. As you can imagine this is every moms worst nightmare. Robbyn her husband and four boys decided that no matter what that were going to celebrate this little life. They chose the name Zion for him.

I decided that this little life growing inside of her deserved to be celebrated because every life is worth being celebrated! They have a strong faith in God which was the "anchor" which carried them through this time.

So her friends gathered and had a "Nautical Sprinkle" for her. This theme was fitting because her favorite scripture verse that she clung to was Hebrews 6:19 "We have this hope as an anchor for our soul" I used anchors everywhere and Lauren Haddox Designs created these adorable Printables.

The menu included some of Robbyn's favorite desserts.

The wooden Zion sign was made by Joannie Ennessy at Works of Heart. Zion Isaiah Blick was born January 11th 2014 and lived 10 amazing days. You can see more of their amazing story here.

Bow Tie Theme Sprinkle for Kristin!

The moment I found out that Kristin was expecting her 3rd baby, I knew that she needed a Sprinkle. When you are expecting your first child, you of course register for everything under the sun and usually are thrown a baby shower or even sometimes several!  Kristin's older children will be  4 1/2 and 7 years. She has some big items but she needed a new updated car seat ( her baby car seat had expired) and of course items for a BOY!! In case you aren't familiar, a Sprinkle is a small scale shower that is thrown when a baby is due and it's not the first.

A few weeks ago myself and two of our friends, Meghan and Michele threw a Bow Tie Sprinkle. I fell in love with this adorable modern Bow Tie invitation from Minted. We knew it would be perfect for Kristin's Sprinkle. We based the decor around the invite. Minted actually has a line of party decor that includes everything you need to host a fab party! How easy is that?

We used the Bow Tie Onesies as decor and Kristin got to take them home with her as part of her gift from us.

Kristin's mom made adorable bow ties out of ribbons for the milk bottles. I found straws at Michael's for a $1!

The guests enjoyed Mimosas, a cheese platter, Quiche, salad, cookies and of course cake!

Kristin's mom ordered an AMAZING cake from Dessert Menu. They used the invitation as inspiration. It not only was beautiful but it had 2 different flavors and tasted wonderful.

Natalie of Wonderfully Made Events is one of our contributors and she graciously made these bow tie cookies. Guests couldn't get over how yummy these little almond flavored cookies tasted!
