There's a new line of dolls from American Girl for girls ages 5-7 called the Wellie Wishers.

The Wellie Wishers are a group of girls who have the same wish - to be a good friend. They play in Aunt Miranda's backyard garden and when they put on their Wellie boots, they are ready for anything!

Not only is there a line of dolls, but also a book series with larger print and colorful photos that my 6 year old can read independently.

The big differences between a Wellie Wisher and the Truly Me doll are the size, body and eyes. The Wellie Wisher is smaller and has a hard plastic body. It also does not have eyes that open and close. For the 5-7 age range, all of these are benefits.

Here's what my 6 year old thinks of the new Wellie Wishers. Please pardon the wind, she wanted to make her video outside in the backyard like the Wellie Wishers.
As you can tell, she really likes that there is now a line of dolls that fills the gap between Bitty Baby and the full size American Girl Dolls!
Along with these adorable dolls there are accessories and play landscapes, wellies and socks for the girls along with all of the outfits so they can dress like their dolls.

Thanks to American Girl for sending Madeline a Wellie Wisher doll for this post. All opinions are honest and our own.
