Macy’s Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month Event

We are always intriqued how fashion and music intersect! All kinds of music have a big influence on fashion. Carlos Santana is a huge icon of style and his music has had an amazing impact on fashion. You can join Macy’s in Chicago on 10/10 at their State Street location as they explore Carlo’s Santana’s influence in the music and fashion world with a panel of style makers and industry experts. Kristin and I are both very excited that Project Runway Season 2 Contestant, Nick Verreos will be the host! Enjoy Latin music and refreshments. We will be there!

Threadless Giveaway

Recently Kristin and I had an opportunity to visit the Threadless headquarters. Threadless is located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. When you drive up the threadless building stands out from all of the rest high-rises.

One thing that really stood out is the fabulous Threadless’ Airstream sitting in the parking lot!

The moment you walk into the Threadless building you can feel the creativity that happens in there! It has a very cool vibe with big couches, video games and t-shirts hanging from the ceiling!

I love how they showcase old t-shirt designs by displaying them as wall art!

You not only feel the creativity but you can see that people have fun working there! Threadless works with artists from around the world to produce amazing t-shirts! You can purchase their shirts online or at two locations in Chicago.

They carry all types of t-shirts. Kristin and I both fell in love with the Girly Dolman. I want to order a few more! It is a perfect shirt to throw on with a pair of skinnies, flats and a long necklace.

Threadless creates cool t-shirts for the whole family!

#BlogHer12 & What We Wore Part #2

A special thanks to Rue La La for providing our outfits for BlogHer 12!

The first days of BlogHer12 are now just a blur of sessions and parties and more parties!  Betsy and I went to the Hasbro party on Friday night.  We danced with Transformers and took photos with My Little Ponies.  Our party let out right into the middle of Times Square.

Saturday morning we went to Getting Gorgeous and met a friendly banana.  I’m wearing my silk C&C California dress standing in front of my color match at the MoMA!  If only we would have had time to walk inside!

Later that day we boarded the bus – yes, the big yellow kind! – and headed to Lands End U.  We’ll tell you more about that tomorrow!

Class pictures, anyone?!

If you have never been to a BlogHer before, you probably have no idea what a SparkleCorn is or what you do at CheeseburgHer.  Let’s just say it’s where exhaustion meets dance songs from high school mixed with a photo booth.

Sunday it was time to say goodbye to our island of Manhattan.  But before we left, we were able to squeeze in shopping on 5th Avenue and a few extra tourist photos.

What a whirlwind!  In 4 days we were in the same room as Martha Stewart, Katie Couric and Kate Gosslin.  Met hundreds of fun brands, even more amazing women in social media, made a few big plans and are equal parts inspired and tired.

As we were picking up our bags from the hotel lobby, we overheard a group of three bloggers saying their good-byes and that they will follow up on whatever ideas they had been discussing all weekend.  It was that moment when it hit me.  That I truly understood what BlogHer is all about.  Turning connections into partnerships and ideas into plans.  I can’t wait to see what comes out of BlogHer12!

Disclosure:  Our fabulous outfits were provided by Rue La La.  All opinions are honest and our own.

Interview with Rock Star Dad Tico Torres

Today The Little Style File is thrilled to have an interview with Rock Star Dad, Tico Torres!  You know Tico as the drummer for Bon Jovi and the creator of the always stylish baby line Rock Star Baby.  We asked Tico about everything from dad style to bedtimes, here is what he had to say…

tico torres

TLSF:  When did the concept of Rock Star Baby first develop?

TICO:  Rock Star Baby first started in 2000, then later revamped and released in Europe and USA in 2009.

TLSF:  How were you able to maintain your rock star style after becoming a parent?
TICO:  Being a musician is a life style and labor of love, like any other profession it has it ups and downs, For me it’s being away from my son… I’ve always tried to not let the celeb  lifestyle envelope my life.
tico torres
TLSF:  What is your favorite fatherhood moment?
TICO:  Everyday I see something in my child that makes me proud!
TLSF:  What are your must have baby/kid items?
TICO:  A must have, is my first born baby sets…  all the clothing should be of best quality and easy to put on and take off.
tico torres
TLSF:  How does your son influence your style?
TICO:  In my eyes, Kids are naturally cool, they are pretty perceptive to there surroundings.  When a new style comes out i like to ask my son if he likes it or not..
TLSF:  What are your fashion tips for dads?
TICO:  The reason for starting RSB is so dads can have a place to shop for the kids, ”Its totally a man friendly line.”
tico torres
TLSF:  The Little Style File knows that kids have their own sense of style – how do you influence your child’s style?
TICO:  By exposing my son to what I believe is cool.   Kids develop there style via there parents manner of dress.
TLSF:  What is your favorite thing to do with your son?
TICO:  Painting pictures together and fishing.
tico torres
TLSF:  We have to know – what is the bedtime for a rock star’s son?
TICO:  8 PM Sharp!!!
