Sweet Dreams Photo Session

The team at Gina Cristine Photography is always coming up with creative Mini Sessions for parents to capture those special moments.  When we saw this photo of their Sweet Dreams Photo Session on their Instagram feed, we knew this was a photo shoot we would want to feature!

Sweet Dreams Photo Shoot

Children arrived to the studio dressed in their favorite pajamas.  The scene was complete with a beautiful bed, hanging stars and clouds.

Family Style Update: the I Family

Last year we helped Lisa find the perfect outfits for her family of three.  We were honored when she contacted us again this year to help with her family of four!

Lisa was interested in a boutique style dress for her little girl and wanted her little guy to be comfortable but a little fancy.

The I Family is a great example of taking their looks and modifying them to fit their photo session!  Lisa found a lace tank that she liked the fit of better and added a cardigan to get the same feel as her inspiration board.  Dad added a sweater as well.  Shoes that were already in their closets were swapped and here is how it all came together.

Aren’t they just the cutest family?

Here’s what Lisa had to say about working with TLSF:

“These outfits are great.  If only taking the pictures were this easy.”

“I just wanted to say thanks again for this – we had our pics last week and I definitely think they turned out well.  I ended up not being able to wear the top but they had a lace tank there that I layered under a cardigan…. same kind of look, I think. :)  The kids looked adorable – I about died when I saw Oliver is his little bow tie!!”

Style Session: Camping with Gina Cristine Photography

The Surprise Session with Gina Cristine Photography was a hit!  Parents and children were surprised when they arrived at a local forest preserve for their photography session.  A vintage inspired camping scene was waiting for them along with outfits and accessories styled by us!

Could these kids be any cuter?!  Gina worked her magic again along with set stylist Jennifer to bring this fun vision to life.  Thread Culture is our latest Etsy obsession and they created five outfits for us.  Tom & Drew Boys, Gap Kids, Crewcuts and Old Navy combined to create the rest of the kids’ looks.  Headbands, bows, hats and jewelry were switched in and out throughout clicks to give families many different styles and options for each child.  Although it was HOT, this day was so fun and it was amazing to see the children’s faces light up when they saw their outfits.  We heart our job!

behind the scenes: Gina Cristine Photography Surprise Session

About a year ago my favorite photographer came up with a wacky idea.

“What if we work together and do a Surprise Session?  All the families will do is show up.  We will have a scene set and all of the clothes waiting for them.  What do you think?”

Um, that sounds pretty freaking awesome.  What parent wouldn’t want to just show up with their kids and have everything ready to go?

So Gina Cristine Photography announced the Surprise Mini Session and it quickly filled up.

Over the last several months a theme and color scheme were selected by Gina and session stylist Jennifer.  We met over our favorite Starbucks drinks to discuss ideas and make sure the Surprise Session vision was cohesive.

Betsy and I scoured Etsy and our favorite designers, working within our $50 per child budget to get each family a complete outfit for the best value.  We discovered Thread Culture, which everyone should heart on Etsy ASAP, called in our friends at Tom & Drew and filled in the gaps with staples from Crewcuts, Gap Kids and Old Navy with a few ‘couture’ friendship bracelets thrown in for good measure.

Now I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t a little nervous about seven families showing up for a photo session without a clue to what their kids would be wearing.  Thankfully, everyone was thrilled and we can’t wait to see the finished images from Gina!  Until then, here is a little behind the scenes peek at the Summer ’12 Gina Cristine Surprise Mini Session! {WARNING:  amateaur photos were taken by me on my iPhone ahead!}

When Gina was 10 her father placed a camera in her hands and taught her how to use it.  Almost 20 years later, Gina finds herself once again spending most days with a camera in hand. From day to day, you can find her capturing everything from the curly fingers and teeny, tiny toes of a newborn, to an enchanted bride on the day she has always dreamed of.

Gina Sandzryk has turned what she loves into a living as a custom, lifestyle photographer and owner of Gina Cristine Photography. After the birth of her daughter, Ava, Gina was inspired to learn all she didn’t already know about digital photography and post processing. She stayed up late researching and took some classes.

Upon seeing the shots Gina was taking of her daughter, friends started asking her to take shots of their families…and so the evolution of GCP began. In the spring of 2010 Gina Cristine Photography became incorporated.

Gina Cristine Photography specializes in ‘couture photography’ and no two sessions will ever be the same.  She doesn’t do poses and would rather snap a shot of a snuggle or belly laugh.  And she has a great eye for details.

Gina loves to do a styled shoot, a field of easels for a budding artist,  rock n roll, superheroes and there is even a surprise session coming in June!  Parents will drop off their children to a completely styled shoot.  How fun is that?!

I stalk  Gina Cristine Photography on Facebook and check out all of her galleries.  But be warned, seeing all of those precious tiny newborns can cause definite baby fever!
